The Mathews Community Labyrinth is located in front of the Kingston Episcopal Chapel, on Main Street in Mathews. A labyrinth is a series of concentric lines forming a circular path leading to the center with only one way in and out. An ancient pattern, labyrinths have been found all over the world, their designs found on archaic petroglyphs and on jewelry and other artifacts. Others are found on the floors of cathedral naves where people are invited to walk the labyrinth’s path in quiet meditation.
The purpose of the program is to introduce the labyrinth, provide its history and other pertinent information, and discuss how it might be used by PATH members. It is a tool that Seniors might find helpful as they face the complications and losses due to aging.
After the program and lunch, I will invite members to join me on a Labyrinth Walk (weather permitting).
